All schools have a duty to provide remote education for school age pupils whose attendance at school would be contrary to government guidance or law around coronavirus. 

The remote education provided should be equivalent in length to the core teaching pupils would receive in school and can include both recorded or live direct teaching time and time for pupils to complete assigned tasks independently. 

The amount of remote education provided should be, as a minimum: 

KS1 3 hours a day on average, with less for younger children

KS2: 4 hours a day 

At St. Joseph’s Primary School, we understand the importance of delivering a high quality curriculum during periods of remote learning. To maintain the continuity of our curriculum, the schemes of work and teaching resources used in school are shared through our online learning platform – Google Classroom. All children have received instruction on how to use Google Classroom, which is regularly reviewed.
